PFS Recognized as “Best of” by San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce

San Mateo, CA – Peninsula Family Service accepted an award for “Best Nonprofit” and in the top five, under the categories of “Children and Youth” and “Senior Living”, on June 4, 2024. 

The San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce launched the inaugural “Best of San Mateo Area” program to celebrate the businesses, services and amenities, over 12,500 community members voted. This is a truly commendable achievement that speaks volumes about these businesses’ commitment to excellence and the esteem in which they are held by our community. 

Heather Cleary, CEO of PFS and Board Chair of the San Mateo Area Chamber of Commerce kicked off the award celebrations. The award ceremony was held in the College of San Mateo’s Bayview Dining Room, in front of a sold-out crowd filled with other award winners, elected officials, and prominent community members. 

Charles Hansen, PFS Chief Programs Officer, thanked the Chamber for the “affirmation” in his response to the recognition on behalf of the organization, management, and staff of over 160 dedicated employees. “We are extremely proud to receive the Best of San Mateo Award,” said Hansen. “This recognition is a testament to our ongoing efforts to offer high-quality programs that meet the evolving needs of our community.” 

As we celebrate this prestigious award, PFS remains dedicated to creating a community where opportunity, financial stability, and wellness are secured for all. PFS will be commemorated in the Chamber’s inaugural “Best of” magazine, set to be released in the upcoming weeks.
